• In aqueous systems, the product hydrolyzes to hypobromous acid (HOBr), a rapid-acting oxidizing biocide.
• HOBr penetrates microbial cell walls, inactivates enzymes, and destroys biofilms.
• Remains effective in alkaline waters where chlorine loses activity.

The disadvantages of not treating the closed circuit water can be equally troubling for the system operator:-

Chemical tratment removes dissolved oxygen that cause oxidation of metal to metal oxide i.e., Iron + Oxygen = Iron Oxide (Rust)
