Remarks:
Mining
MIBC is used as a frother in the mining industry to separate hydrophobic minerals from hydrophilic waste, and to increase the efficiency of mineral recovery. It's the most widely used alcohol frother because it produces dry but easy-to-break froths, and is suitable for fine particles.
Solvent
MIBC is used as a solvent in many industrial processes, including the production of nitrocellulose lacquers, pharmaceuticals, talc, and surfactants. It's also used as a diluent agent for hydraulic fluids.
Plasticizer
MIBC is a raw material in the production of methyl amyl sebacate and methyl amyl phthalate, which are used as plasticizers.
Essential oils
MIBC is used as a solvent in the extraction process of essential oils used in fragrances.
MIBC is an acetone derivative solvent that's miscible with most organic solvents and has limited solubility in water. It should be kept away from fire or high temperatures, and in an environment free of moisture and water.
