Butyl Stearate is a stable, colorless, odorless oily liquid that is resistant to oxidation. It is soluble in acetone, ethanol, mineral and vegetable oils and insoluble in water. It acts primarily as a lubricant on the skin’s surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. Butyl Stearate also decreases the thickness of lipsticks, thereby lessening the drag on lips, imparts water repelling characteristics to nail polishes, and dries to form a thin, non-greasy, hydrophobic film when applied to the skin or lips. It can also be used in fragrances and conditioners. Butyl Stearate is used as plasticizers in nail varnishes, Emollient in skin cream, lotions & Lipsticks. Butyl Stearate is a fatty acid ester used as a raw material of emulsifiers or oiling agent for foods, spin finishes and textiles, lubricants for Plastics, Paint and ink Additives Surfactants and base material for perfumer.
