Vanadium Pentoxide (V₂O₅) is a widely used industrial catalyst and catalyst component due to its strong oxidation-reduction properties and ability to operate effectively at elevated temperatures. It is commonly used in catalytic oxidation processes and is often supported on materials such as titanium dioxide (TiO₂), silica, or alumina.
Sulfuric Acid Production: Used in vanadium-based catalysts for the oxidation of sulfur dioxide (SO₂) to sulfur trioxide (SO₃).
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR): Used in NOₓ emission control systems, commonly in combination with titanium and tungsten oxides.
