Iron(III) phosphate, also called ferric phosphate or ferric orthophosphate, is FePO4 (CAS 10045-86-0). It is an off-white to pale yellow powder that does not dissolve in water.
Uses: battery-grade material is the precursor for lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cathodes, food-grade material is used to fortify foods with iron, and it is the active ingredient in some slug and snail baits. It is also used in ceramics and as a catalyst.
