Fishmeal made from whole wild-caught fish, bycatch, and fish by-products to feed farm animals, e.g., pigs, poultry, and farmed fish. Because it is calorically dense and cheap to produce, fishmeal has played a critical role in the growth of factory farms and the number of farm animals it is possible to breed and feed.

Fishmeal takes the form of powder or cake. This form is obtained by drying the fish or fish trimmings, and then grinding it. If the fish used is a fatty fish it is first pressed to extract most of the fish oil.

Applications

Fish meal is a high-quality, digestible feed ingredient that's important for the growth, development, and reproduction of many farm animals, especially fish and shrimp:
  • Nutrients: Fish meal is a rich source of protein, lipids, minerals, and vitamins. It contains essential amino acids like lysine, methionine, and cysteine, as well as vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12. Fish meal is also a good source of calcium, copper, iron, and phosphorous. 
  • Digestibility: Fish meal is highly digestible and has a balanced amount of nutrients. 
  • Palatability: Fish meal enhances the palatability of feed, especially in feline diets. 
  • Natural characteristics: Fish meal imparts a natural characteristic to artificial feed.

Beyond Oman. We have branches in the UAE (including Fujairah) and in India (Kandla, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Mumbai), and we also supply to South Africa.
