EDTA DI SODIUM SALT N/10 SOLN disodium salt of EDTA is preferred in hardness estimation mainly because it is more soluble in aqueous 
solutions which allows release of the EDTA ligand into solution to react.

Applications

 
EDTA is used to improve stability of some pharmaceutical products, detergents, liquid soaps, shampoos, agricultural chemical sprays, contact lens cleaners and cosmetics. It is also used in certain blood collection tubes used by medical laboratories.
The Disodium salt of EDTA is the most commonly used form of this versatile organic complexing agent, which is used for the determination of many metal ions either by direct titration or by back-titration.

The present invention provides process of preparing EDTA disodium salt. The process includes the following steps: 1. mixing ethylene diamine and sodium hydroxide and heating, dropping hydroxyl acetonitrile within 5 hr, reaction after finishing dropping for at least 30 min until releasing ammonia completely; 2. adding EDTA to regulate pH value to 5-6;
