Product description

Activated charcoal is used in the emergency treatment of certain kinds of poisoning. It helps prevent the poison from being absorbed from the stomach into the body. Sometimes, several doses of activated charcoal are needed to treat severe poisoning.

Applications

Activated carbon is used in methane and hydrogen storage, air purification, solvent recovery, decaffeination, gold purification, metal extraction, water purification, medicine, sewage treatment, air filters in respirators, filters in compressed air, teeth whitening, production of hydrogen chloride and many other.

Dosage

In foods, activated charcoal is increasingly used as a black food coloring.
As medicine, activated charcoal has most often been used under the supervision of a healthcare professional in a single dose of 100 grams by mouth. It's also used in wound dressings.

Activated charcoal’s negatively charged, porous texture helps trap toxins, preventing your body from absorbing them. 

Activated charcoal can bind a variety of drugs and toxins, preventing their absorption into the body. It’s often used as an anti-poison treatment or to treat drug overdoses.

Activated charcoal may help improve kidney function by promoting the elimination of toxic waste products. This may be particularly useful in cases of kidney disease, but more studies are needed.
