Product description

Carbol fuchsin, carbol-fuchsin, or carbolfuchsin, is a mixture of phenol and basic fuchsin, used in bacterial staining procedures. It is commonly used in the staining of mycobacteria as it has an affinity for the mycolic acids found in their cell membranes.

Applications

Used for demonstrating acid fast bacteria and bacterial spores.

Dosage

The dose of carbol-fuchsin solution will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of carbol-fuchsin solution. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.
 
The amount of medicine that you take depends on the strength of the medicine. Also, the number of doses you take each day, the time allowed between doses, and the length of time you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are using the medicine.
 
For topical dosage form (solution):
For postoperative phenol nail procedures or as a first aid antiseptic drying agent:
Adults and children—Apply to the affected area(s) of the skin one to three times a day. Do not use carbol-fuchsin solution for more than one weekhe dose of carbol-fuchsin solution will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. resistant organisms, such as bacteria that cause TBC. Depending on personal requests and standard laboratory operating procedures, the dye solution can be prepared according to other protocols.
