A simple, efficient and convenient method for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines by a one-pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, acetophenones and ammonium acetate under solvent free media at 80°C in the presence of 30 mol% of tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulphate (TBAHS) is described.
