Product Description

Lithium chloride is mainly used for the production of lithium metal by electrolysis of a LiCl/KCl melt at 450 °C (842 °F). LiCl is also used as a brazing flux for aluminium in automobile parts. It is used as a desiccant for drying air streams.Lithium is used to treat and prevent episodes of mania (frenzied, abnormally excited mood) in people with bipolar disorder (manic-depressive disorder; a disease that causes episodes of depression, episodes of mania, and other abnormal moods). Lithium is in a class of medications called antimanic agents.

Product Application

  • Lithium Chloride Technical is supplied in free flowing, anhydrous crystal form for use in industrial applications. It is excellent for use as a desiccant, electrolyte, stabilizer, catalyst, and solubilizer across various industries.

Product Dose

  • Lithium chloride solution, 0.5 M in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran  considered equivalent to an oral dose of 100 mg/day of lithium chloride or 16 mg Li/day.

Product Note

  • It is hygroscopic in nature. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, bromine trichloride and bromine trifluoride. Deliquescent salt forms a solution when exposed to humid air. Store in a cool and dry place in closed tight containers.
