Metanil Yellow (Acid Yellow 36) is a dye of the azo class. In analytical chemistry, it is used as a pH indicator and it has a color change from red to yellow between pH 1.2 and 3.2.
Oral administration of Metanil yellow (430 mg kg-1 body wt.) for 7 days
Staining procedures are not standardized and they depend on standard operating procedures of individual laboratories and the experience of the personnel conducting the staining procedure. Intensity of staining depends on the period of immersion in the dye. Depending on personal request and standard laboratory operating procedures, sample processing and staining can be carried out according to other protocols.
