Storage and Handling
Cyclohexane is a highly flammable liquid. The ILO/WHO International Chemical Safety Card reports a closed-cup flash point of approximately −18°C, a boiling point of about 81°C, and an explosive range in air of approximately 1.3–8.4% by volume.
Therefore:
-
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.
-
Use appropriate electrical and ventilation controls.
-
Keep containers tightly closed.
-
Store in a cool, well-ventilated area.
-
Prevent accumulation of vapors.
-
Use appropriate grounding/bonding procedures during transfer.
-
Avoid breathing vapors.
-
Use suitable chemical-resistant PPE.
-
Follow the current SDS and applicable local regulations.
Cyclohexane vapors are heavier than air and can accumulate in low or poorly ventilated areas.
Cyclohexane Safety
Cyclohexane should be handled only by trained personnel familiar with flammable solvents.
The ILO/WHO safety information notes that exposure can occur through inhalation or ingestion, and short-term exposure may affect the central nervous system. If swallowed, aspiration into the lungs can result in chemical pneumonitis.
Always consult the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before storage, handling, transportation or use.
Cyclohexane for Chemical Industries
Cyclohexane is particularly relevant to industries involved in:
RXSOL Cyclohexane Manufacturer & Supplier – India, UAE & Oman
RXSOL Cyclohexane is offered for industrial and commercial chemical applications requiring a reliable cycloalkane solvent or chemical intermediate.
With supply support across India, UAE and Oman, RXSOL can assist customers with Cyclohexane requirements for chemical manufacturing, nylon-related industries, coatings, adhesives, rubber processing, laboratory applications and other suitable industrial uses.
For bulk requirements, customers should specify the required purity, quantity, packaging and destination so the appropriate grade and supply option can be confirmed.
