Dimethylamine hydrochloride is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals like ranitidine and metformin, tramadol and amlodipine. It is used as a precursor of atrazine.

Dimethylamine hydrochloride is the raw material of organic synthesis, the catalyzer of also analyzing as acetylize and the preparation of azoviolet and dimethylamine agueous solution.
