Description Dark red/reddish purple to brown powder. Solubility 0.1% solution in water should be clear.
Identification (By UV-VIS) Passes test. 
Dye content (Titanometry; on dried substance) :- Min. 45.0% 
Absorption maximum λ max (buffer pH 12.2, on dried sub.) :- 632 – 636 nm 
Absorptivity (A1% / 1 cm at λ max. 0.0015%; buffer pH 12.2; on dried subs.) :- 200 - 300
