Overview

Viscosity Builder for Toilet Cleaner

Product description

Acid Thickener  Rx is a nonionic surfactant designed to build viscosity in acid media. Acid Thickener  Rx surfactant may be used alone in hydrochloric acid, or in combination with sodium chloride (salt) when used with other acids (such as phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrofluoric, citric, oxalic, etc.) Varying the use level of Acid Thickener surfactant (and salt) will vary the viscosity build. Acid Thickener  Rx is a versitle, broad spectrum non phenolic biocide & Fungicide for leather, paper, paint, textile, wood and water treatment , free from penta - chlorophenate.

Applications

It is an ethoxylate for preparing high viscosity acid solutions and thus is commonly known as acid thickener. It is most predominantly used in preparing liquid toilet cleaner based on hydrochloric acid.

Dosage

It is used as viscosity builder in acid cleaning and the dosage suggested for building viscosity is 2 to 2.4% depending upon the acid content.

Also known as

Atsomyn E-VB,Sudasol AT,Tomamine,Dynal TCM ,

Notes

Advantage :

  • Imparts very good viscosity at very low dosage.
  • Gives a stable product without any fear of separation later.
  • The product is almost colorless and transparent. This gives a very bright and sparkling final product on addition of dye.
  • Turns out to be very economical because of the low dose.
  • Easy to use readily miscible with water.
  • Long term viscosity stability.
  • Provides 90% corrosion inhibition in HCl.
  • Solubilizes easily and quickly.

 Storage and Handling :-

The Product can be stored at ambient temperatures for five years. Avoid Contact with strong oxidizing agents .Do not store above 60 Deg C over prolonged periods . Should always be homogenized before use.
