Materials of Application
The product can be applied using suitable chemical-resistant equipment, including:
-
Chemical-resistant low-pressure spray equipment
-
Acid/chemical-resistant pumps
-
Plastic or compatible stainless-steel application equipment
-
Brushes and suitable manual application systems
-
Immersion tanks
-
Circulation cleaning systems
Important Operating Notes
The surface should be thoroughly rinsed after pickling before passivator application. For best results, apply the passivator uniformly so that the complete stainless-steel surface remains wetted throughout the required contact period.
Do not permit loosened pickling residues, chloride-rich rinse water or contaminated rinse water to remain on the stainless-steel surface after treatment.
Where high-purity service, pharmaceutical equipment, food-contact equipment or critical process systems are involved, the final rinse-water quality and acceptance criteria should be established according to the applicable plant procedure.
Suitable Stainless-Steel Applications
Safe Passivator Liquid 630 can be considered for general passivation treatment of stainless-steel:
Tanks • Pipelines • Heat exchangers • Process vessels • Fabricated components • Stainless-steel structures • Marine equipment • Pumps • Valves • Tubing • Welded assemblies
Compatibility and treatment effectiveness should be verified on the actual stainless-steel grade and surface condition before large-scale application.
